Natural product inhibitors of Stat3 and NF-kappaB

Case ID: 01035

Description

Physalis peruviana and poha berry fruit have been found to control human cancer growth by blocking the abnormal functions of Stat3 and NF-kappaB signaling pathways. Inhibitory effects were observed in human glioma, bladder carcinoma, and breast cancer cells in vitro.

Applications

  • Growth inhibition in cancers with activated Stat3 and NF-kappaB signaling pathways, including glioma, kidney, bladder and breast cancers.
  • Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 3 (Stat3) and NF-kappa B signaling pathway activation inhibitor.

Advantages

Inhibitory compounds and semi-synthesized analogs from these natural products, and their inhibitory mechanisms, have been identified and tested in vitro.
